How we handle corrections
Where a significant factual inaccuracy is identified, we will correct it at the earliest opportunity and with due prominence, normally equal to that of the original publication.
Significant corrections will be clearly identified within the affected article, accompanied by a dated notice explaining what has been changed.
Where appropriate, we may also publish a separate correction or draw attention to the correction through our website or social media channels.
Minor spelling, grammatical or formatting errors that do not materially affect the meaning of an article may be corrected without a formal notice.
Clarifications and updates
As news develops, new information may become available that changes or adds context to an existing report.
Where appropriate, we will update or clarify our reporting to reflect verified developments.
Routine updates to developing stories are distinguished from corrections to inaccurate information.
Public corrections register
