Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters responded to a fire at Westbourne Park Bus Garage in west London.
London Fire Brigade said the fire involved a double decker electric bus, which was destroyed.
Two electric vehicle charging points were also destroyed.
There are no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was first called at 18:23 and said the incident was under control by 19:11. Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene into the evening.
Crews from North Kensington and Paddington fire stations attended the bus depot on Great Western Road, Westbourne Park.
London Bus Forums News had earlier received video footage appearing to show a route 23 bus on fire inside the garage.
TfL Surface Control Centre recorded disruption in the area from around 18:35, with the road closed in both directions near Westbourne Park Station. Routes 28, 31 and 328 were affected by diversions.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by London Fire Brigade’s Fire Investigation Team.
Westbourne Park Garage is operated by First Bus London and serves several London bus routes, including route 23, which runs between Westbourne Park Bus Garage and Aldwych.
