The Metropolitan Police described the incident as a “damage-only collision”, while the London Ambulance Service confirmed it had not attended because no injuries were reported.
London Fire Brigade said it was called at 12.32pm, with two fire engines and a fire rescue unit dispatched from Euston, Paddington and Chelsea fire stations.
Golden Tours confirmed it was investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A spokesperson said: “Incidents of this nature are extremely rare, and we take all matters relating to safety very seriously.”
The collision caused traffic disruption around Trafalgar Square throughout Thursday afternoon.
