A new entrance to Battersea Power Underground station has officially opened, providing a second step free access point to the Northern line and direct links to the growing Electric Boulevard neighbourhood.
The entrance is located on Electric Boulevard and offers an alternative route to the original station hall within the redeveloped power station building. It provides easier access for residents, workers and visitors to the new shops, offices and homes around the former industrial site.

The opening was marked with a ribbon cutting attended by Deputy Mayor for Transport Seb Dance and representatives from Wandsworth Council and the Battersea Power Station Development Company. The new ticket hall is fully accessible and includes step free access via lifts to the Northern line platforms.

Battersea Power Station has seen more than 14 million journeys since the Northern line extension opened in 2021. The new entrance is designed to relieve pressure on the original station during busy times and offer more convenient access to nearby homes and shops. It brings the total number of step free stations on the Tube network to 94.
Funding for the new entrance was provided by the Battersea Power Station developer. The Northern line extension was itself supported by local government and private investment, with two new step free stations at Nine Elms and Battersea as part of the first major Tube extension since the Jubilee line in the late 1990s.
The entrance opens ahead of more development across the site, including a new NHS medical centre, further commercial space and a proposed new river pier. Transport for London says it is continuing to make more Tube stations step free by 2030 and investing in additional entrances where possible to support growth.
